Windows 11 impressed with its features
The operating system for computer hardware Windows 11 , which is expected to be released this year, will feature user-friendly interface, wide functionality and a high level of stability. The portal “Khvilya” writes about this, referring to various sources on the network. The new platform from Microsoft will rework standard applications, redesign menu items, improve stability, and introduce new features and permission-granting security. It will also have a new and safer process for installing updates. These features will make Windows 11 the best OS from Microsoft.
The new operating system will have native support for iOS and Android mobile phones, so that their owners will be able to use many different features, for example, remote launch of applications on smartphones. The new product will be fully compatible with Win32, UWP and PWA applications. Due to this, all games and programs running on Windows 10 will fully work on the new OS. After it, beta testing will take place, and anyone can become a participant. A new version of Windows is expected to be released in the fall.
Windows 10 and Windows 11 compared in benchmarks
We recently wrote that a version of Windows 11 was released, and this happened before the announcement, which is expected on June 24. And now HotHardware has tested the OS and compared it with Windows 10. For the tests, we used Dell XPS 13 9300 laptops with an Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 based on AMD Ryzen 7 4800U.
As it turned out, different versions of the system behave differently in different tests. For example, in PCMark 10, Windows 10 was ahead. The same is in the Essentials test. But in Digital Content Creation, Windows 11 was already ahead, but only on the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7. The situation is similar in the Speedometer 2 test, although different builds of the Chrome browser were used there.
In Cinebench R23, the single-threaded test results differed little, but in the multi-threaded version, Windows 11 lagged behind Windows 10 by about 10%. In 3DMark Night Raid, the AMD Ryzen laptop ran the same under both operating systems, while the Intel laptop ran 4% slower under Windows 11.
Windows 11 leaked
An early build of Windows 11 appeared online yesterday and was immediately downloaded by enthusiasts. And almost immediately, new data began to appear, including the appearance, the Start menu, the new start sound, the video interface, and more.
New “Start”
Changes have appeared in the new version of the menu. So, for example, it is now centered and looks simpler. You can also see that there are different colors and a translucency effect for the menu.
Other screenshots
There are almost no differences here, except for the rounded corners. Otherwise the same tools as in Windows 10.
How it will be possible to upgrade to Windows 11 for free
Recently, the first build of Windows 11 for developers appeared on the network, in which the design of the main parameters and even the bottom panel was noticeably updated. The system has not yet been officially presented, but it is already being tested and will be available to all users in the near future. Now the journalists at XDA-Developers have figured out how the update to this system will take place – and who will get it for free.
So, if you believe the data from the configuration keys that leaked along with the build of Windows 11, owners of all computers running Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 will be able to get the update. At the same time, a free update for Windows 8 will not be available: you will first have to upgrade to Windows 8.1. And then install Windows 11.The update for these versions of the system will be free and possible both “over the air” through the settings, and by completely reinstalling from an external drive.
At this stage of testing, Windows 11 already has an updated Start menu, notification bar, File Explorer, themes and sounds. In addition, the icons in the bottom bar are now centered by default – just like on macOS. How the final Windows 11 will look and when it comes out, it will become known next week: the official premiere is scheduled for June 24.
